Lackadaisy

Comic Panel Process

I put this rundown of my art process for a comic panel together for an article, so I figured I'd share.

This process has gotten vastly more complicated since I started working on Lackadaisy.  Pages used to be almost 100% pencil with just a little sepia tone added digitally.  Now, after penciling, a panel often requires hours of additional work.  Put 12 or 15 panels together for a page, and it accounts for at least part of the reason I fail so hard at regular updates.

(If I knew then what I know now about economical stylization, I wouldn't have to daydream about traveling back in time and punching myself in the neck).
